Las Vegas trip

We  flew to Las Vegas. Las Vegas is the largest city in Nevada.  I saw the famous “Welcome to fabulous Las Vegas” sign in the airport. I was excited to see this sign. We rented a car and drove.

While driving I saw the “I-15” sign which goes all the way to San Diego, CA .   I love road signs and was excited to see another Interstate road sign.

We drove on I-15 and turned on Las Vegas Boulevard to reach Seven Magic Mountains. It has 7 mountains stacked with colorful boulders. It was built by a Swiss artist. It took almost 5 years to build this. Each boulder is ~ 4000 lbs. Internationally renowned Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone’s Seven Magic Mountains is a large-scale site-specific public art installation located near Jean Dry Lake and Interstate 15, approximately ten miles south of Las Vegas, Nevada.  This sculpture is a creative expression of human presence in the desert. It punctuates the Mojave with a poetic burst of form and color. ( Ref:  https://sevenmagicmountains.com/)

We reached the hotel. We drove on Las Vegas blvd. We saw paris paris.
There was the Eiffel Tower. It was a casino and hotel inside. The inside of the hotel looked like Paris city. I felt excited to see the Eiffel Tower.

We walked on Las Vegas Blvd. Venetian hotel was just opposite this one. We saw the water fountain show.

We also saw the sphere on our way back to the hotel. There was a smiley face. It was cute. I saw the same sphere even from the Strat tower. I was happy to see the smiley face come.

Day 2:
On the next day, we drove to the Grand Canyon  via I-11. I saw a welcome to Arizona sign.

We visited the grand canyon. We took the bus from the parking lot of the Grand canyon.   We visited the west rim. It has a skywalk.  It is 4000 ft deep.

As per  Hualapai tribe, a giant eagle saved the tribe from flooding. The story goes that a giant ice comet landed in Colorado, tha over time it melted and a river formed, carving the Grand Canyon. The eagle swooped before flooding and saved the tribes. The eagle itself turned into stone. This is called Eagle Point. You can see Eagle point from the skywalk.

We saw the best view of the Grand canyon. We hiked to Guano point.Guano means bat poop. My brother and I laughed when we heard that this is an active ingredient used in makeup products. At the end of the rail, we saw the Cable - head -house. This was used to mine the Gunao long ago.

There were some amazing views of the Grand Canyon. I enjoyed walking on the trail. We ate lunch there. We took the bus and came back to our car.

 Day 3
We went to the stratosphere building .There was an observatory on the 108th floor. You can see Las Vegas and Sierra Nevada . It is 1149 ft tall.  I felt happy to see the entire city landscape from the observatory floor.

We drove to Hoover dam from there.  We saw the Hoover  Dam. It is on the Colorado river. It borders 2 states - Arizona and Nevada. It is 726 ft tall.   It was built from 1931-1936 .It is the largest dam in usa. It is named after the 31th president. It is one of the hydro-electric plants, generating ~2000 megawatts. It is very humongous. It was very windy when we visited, that, I almost lost my cap. I felt excited that I walked in both states.

I really enjoyed the trip. My favorite part is visiting the Grand Canyon as we drove onto another state Arizona.

I enjoy seeing all the road signs.
