Spokane trip

We drove to Spokane during memorial day weekend. It was a 3 hour drive. We drove on I-90

crossing Ellensburg, Vantage, Ritzville, Moses lake , Sprague and reached Spokane. We

entered Columbia plateau near exit 136. We stayed in a hotel in Spokane.



Next day morning, we went to Spokane falls. We took a gondola ride. Did you know that it is 500 ft high? The Upper Falls Dam is a diversion dam , which was constructed in 1920 that directs the

water into the Upper Falls intake on the south channel of the Spokane River.There is a

hydroelectric plant by the falls. generating 10 MW. We also walked on the trail to Lower Falls.



Later, we went to Lake Coeur d'Alene, idaho. We went on a boat ride for 1 hour. It is one of the

biggest lakes in Idaho.




The next day, we drove on US-2 from Spokane to Grand Coulee Dam. We passed Davenport

on our way. Did you know that Grand Coulee dam is the biggest dam in the US? It is located on

the Columbia river in WA. It is 3 times wider than Hoover dam. It is 550 feet high and 5223 feet

wide. It is the largest Hydropower producer in the United States, generating more than 21 billion

kilowatt hours of electricity each year.







On the way, I saw Lake Roosevelt. This is a reservoir which transfers water to Bank lake.

Interesting fact:

1. Electric City is near Grand Coulee Dam.

2. Grand Coulee Dam is part of the Columbia Basin Project .


I enjoyed this trip. My favorite part is visiting Grand Coulee dam. It was very massive,

 Another interesting anomaly of US map  is North West Angle.  It comes under Minnesota state, USA.  (Ref: Wikipedia image)  About this point:  Northwest angle is "angle" is north west of the Lake woods in Minnesota.   INTRESTING FACTS IN MATH This is details about all interesting facts I learn in Math.  Hilbert infinite hotel paradox.  Today I will discuss the Hilbert infinite hotel paradox.  Imagine a hotel with infinite rooms. And now infinite guests are already in each room. So now the problem is we have new infinite guests coming to check-in the hotel. How do we solve the problem where new guests also have rooms to stay?  Let's assume that all the rooms are similar in size and each guest is a single guest.  Now , we can solve by , putting each guest in 2*n where n is the hotel room number.  So lets say guest A is in room # 1, he will go to room #2, guest from room # 2 will go to 4, guest from #3 will go to 6, so on and so forth. 49th parallel (Oregon Treaty of 1846)

 Oregon Treaty The Oregon treaty was signed to settle the long standing dispute between the US and British(now Canada). This treaty resolved the western border between the United States and British Canada Oregon Country Before the treaty was signed, Oregon Country was jointly owned by Britain and US. Oregon Country later became part of current Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana and Wyoming. It was signed by President James Polk and John Tyler on July 16th 1846. Below is the map of the Oregon Country.
